If you look in many, many common dictionaries nowadays the verb ‘to google’ is in there.

Richard: Um… and also it's not just company names but there are lots of things lying around the office which are actually brands which have come to mean the actual thing it is itself. Difficult to explain… but Blu-Tack, for instance, that was invented by a company um… and that is a trademark.
Jackie: Right, and that trademark is just being used for… for different makes of Blu-tack.
Richard: Yes, and er… Post-it notes. I think Post-its are only made by the company 3M but now, 'Post-it' has come into modern daily usage.
Jackie: Yes, interesting isn't it. Um… escalator, Richard, did you know that used to be a brand name?
Richard: Wow, no, and there are lots of them*.
