Cannabis – The Evil Weed is a short BBC documentary that examines the scientific research and the general public debate involving the world's favored banned drug. Searching for the homeland of the simple plant to Kazakhstan on Central Asia, Dr. John Marsden, specialized in addiction, finds the origins of our sensitivity to cannabis in the simple sea squirt; and shows just what it does to our brains. He inform TV audiences through various subjects as well as issues, which includes; connections with THC to schizophrenia; scientific studies on mice indicating cannabis-related mental impairment; the introduction of Sativex, a cannabis-extracted drug. He meets people who have been changed by this drug in drastically different ways – from those whose lives have been shattered to those who lives have been revived.
