Jackie: How do you know that people are spending an inappropriate amount of time on... on social media at... at work?
Kevin: Well, there's a number of ways that we can monitor that. Um... the first one is sometimes it's just very apparent. You see people who are distracted all the time who perhaps um... aren't as attentive as you'd like them to be and are difficult to engage with...
Jackie: Right
Kevin: ...and they're the more obvious people who you can deal with quite simply by perhaps the manager taking them to one side and saying that this has been noticed and we'd appreciate it if they could perhaps use it less. Um... but there are other ways er... we can actually monitor through our IT system er... the amount of usage on some of the sites and some of the media usage as well so, and although we do that um... only occasionally um... we have found that it's quite a good way to point out to people the amount of work time they're spending...
Jackie: ...Maybe they're unaware of how much work time they're actually spending on that so maybe it's actually a useful tool for them to realise...
