Speaking IELTS part 2 & 3

I’m going to tell about a significant change when I got my first mobile phone. It was a time that I received such a state-of-the-art smart phone that I was really deep into.

I still remember vividly the time that I was preparing for the entrance exam to university. At that time, I had to work my fingers to the bone to achieve my goal. However, I found it too hard to learn English, which was the subject that I had no idea about it before. I said to my mother and then she decided to take me to an electric store and asked me to pick the latest model. She hoped this gadget help me with this language thanks to the applications on it. 

My whole life has changed since that moment. Thanks to this phone, I could widen my lexical resources because there were a huge number of learning applications which come in handy. I had access to a reservoir of knowledge about synonyms and antonyms that I needed while reading the materials. For instance, whenever I got stuck with a new word, I found its definition and pronunciation through some offline dictionaries like T-flat or Oxford. Finally, I passed the exam to my dream university with flying colors and then climbed to the top of the career ladder.

1.   Do most people in your country have a communication device at home?

Definitely yes. In this digital age, a communication item is an indispensable tool for each person even in the most remote areas. The mobile phone, for instance, has revolutionized the virtual world which helped them communicate with others easier and quicker.

Chắc chắn là có rồi. Ở trong thời đại số như ngày nay, một vật dụng giao tiếp là không thể thiếu đối với mỗi người ngay cả trong khu vực xa xôi nhất. Ví dụ, chiếc điện thoại, đã cách mạng hóa thế giới ảo giúp cho con người giao tiếp với nhau dễ dàng hơn. 

2.   Do you think young children should have mobile phones?

In my opinion, kids don’t really need a mobile phone with them. Initially, mobile phones can cause a distraction when they’re at school by texting messages or playing games on the Internet. Moreover, a sedentary lifestyle which results from spending too much time using mobile phone and neglecting some outdoor activities will be created. This lifestyle is prone to entail many health problems such as obesity and damaged eye-sight.

Theo tôi, trẻ con không cần dùng điện thoại. Đầu tiên, điện thoại có thể gây xao nhãng khi bọn trẻ đang học ở trường khi chúng nhắn tin hay chơi game trên điện thoại. Hơn nữa, lối sống thụ động gây ra do sử dụng điện thoại quá nhiều và lờ đi các hoạt động ngoài trời sẽ được tạo ra. Phong cách sống này có thể gây ra nhiều vấn đề về sức khỏe như là béo phì hay hỏng mắt. 

3.   How has the phone changed the way we work?

Advanced technology has changed our work significantly. Emails, tax or mobile phones help us save time and money for travelling or delivering the paper documents. They also gives us massive storage capacity, which means offices can store a huge number of documents, reports and data on this virtual world. That helps people avoid losing paper documents as they often used to.

Công nghệ tân tiến đã thay đổi công việc của chúng ta rất nhiều. Email, tax hay điện thoại di dộng giúp chúng ta tiết kiệm thời gian đi lại hay phân phối tài liệu giấy. Chúng cũng giúp chúng ta lưu trữ số lượng lớn, điều đó có nghĩa các văn phòng có thể lưu lại rất nhiều tài liệu, thông báo và dữ liệu ở thế giới ảo. Điều này giúp cho con người tránh mất tài liệu giấy giống như trước đó.

Tôi sẽ nói về một thay đổi lớn khi tôi có chiếc điện thoại di động đầu tiên của mình. Đó là một chiếc điện thoại hiện đại tới mức mà tôi thật sự chìm đắm vào nó. 

Tôi vẫn nhớ như in thời gian mà tôi đang chuẩn bị cho kỳ thi vào đại học. Vào thời điểm đó, tôi phải làm việc rất chăm chỉ để hoàn thành mục tiêu. Tuy nhiên, tôi nhận thấy nó quá vất vả để học tiếng Anh, môn học mà tôi không hề biết gì trước đó cả. Tôi nói với mẹ và rồi mẹ tôi quyết định đưa tôi đến một cửa hàng điện tử và bảo tôi chọn một cái mới nhất. Bà hy vọng rằng thiết bị này sẽ giúp tôi học ngoại ngữ nhờ có những ứng dụng cài đặt trên đó.

Cuộc đời của tôi đã thay đổi kể từ đó. Nhờ có chiếc điện thoại này, tôi có thể mở rộng vốn từ bởi có rất nhiều ứng dụng để học rất tiện lợi. Tôi có thể tiếp cận vào cả một bể kiến thức về từ đồng nghĩa và trái nghĩa khi đọc tài liệu học tập. Ví dụ, bất cứ khi nào tôi bị bí từ, tôi tìm định nghĩa và phát âm của nó qua một vài từ điển offline như T-flat hay Oxford. Cuối cùng, tôi vượt qua kỳ thi với kết quả rất cao và đạt được đỉnh cao của sự nghiệp sau này.

Tóm lại, đó là một thiết bị không thể thiếu mà tôi không thể đạt được mục tiêu của mình mà không có nó.
