Well, I’d like to talk about the law to cut the use of the plastic bags. Several years ago, our Vietnamese government approved a law to reduce the excessive consumption of the plastic bags which proved to be a main source of pollution because the bags are non- biodegradable.

In the past, people could get the plastic bags from various supermarkets for free. As a result, Vietname has witnessed high consumption of the white pollution for years which will take centuries to degrade. Therefore, we’d like to see a law banning the use of plastic bags in supermarkets and shopping malls while encouraging people to use paper or cotton bags, or repeatedly use the handy plastic bags instead.

Consequently, things are improving. Large supermarket chains, such as Big-C or Vinmart have started to introduce reusable bags and give some rewards to customers who refuse to use plastic bags. As well as that, the law also raises the public’s green awareness to protect our environment, with various efforts to reduce the carbon footprint. For example, people tend to buy the fuel efficiency vehicles instead of the gas-guzzlers in order to emit less carbon dioxide in the same mileage.

I think Thắt chặt luật lệ  this law is a wonderful action of our government to ensure sustainable development for Vietnam.  Actions to protect the environment come from not only government but also individuals.

Ngày xưa, mọi người có thể lấy túi nilon từ mọi siêu thị hoàn toàn miễn phí. Chính vì thế mà Việt Nam đã tiêu thụ cực kỳ nhiều túi nilon dẫn đến ô nhiễm trong suốt nhiều năm, mà nếu muốn giảm thực trạng này thì cần đến hàng thế kỉ. Chính vì thế tôi rất muốn chính sách cấm dùng túi nilon ở các siêu thị được áp dụng và khuyến khích mọi người sử dụng túi giấy hoặc túi cotton hoặc thậm chí sử dụng lại những túi nilon cầm tay. 

Kết quả là mọi thứ đã cải thiện đáng kể. Các chuỗi siêu thị lớn như Big-C hay Vinmart đã bắt đầu giới thiệu túi có thể sử dụng lại hoặc đưa ra những phần quà cho các khách hang không sử dụng túi nilon. Thêm vào đó, luật này cũng đi cùng với việc nâng cao nhận thức của mọi người về việc bảo vệ môi trường với rất nhiều những nỗ lực khác nhau để giảm lượng CO2 thải ra. Ví dụ như mọi người được khuyến khích mua xe tiết kiệm năng lượng thay bằng xe chạy bằng quá nhiều xăng/khí để giảm lượng CO2.  

Tôi nghĩ rằng việc thắt chặt luật lệ này là một hành động tuyệt vời của chính phủ để đảm bảo sự phát triển bền vững cho Việt Nam. Cả chính phủ, cả người dân đều phải chung tay bảo vệ môi trường.
